Tonight I am going out (like, "out out") which is unusual for me. It's not going great, and is not really my scene as you can tell by the fact I'm on Vogons! Tomorrow will probably be a quiet day, I'll set up a Slot 1 motherboard I got through the post today. Sunday I'll see my Dad who lives by the coast.

Here's what I have planned for this weekend:

Friday/Today: Thrifting and maybe some other things depending on how the day goes.
Saturday/Tomorrow: Watching some old British TV shows (Chef! and Classic Doctor Who) on PBS.
Sunday: Not sure yet, maybe I'll update this list depending on what happens on that day.

Thursday I asked my coworker if he wanted to have dinner Friday night. He said he'll text me. He never did.

Last week, I made plans for Saturday with someone and they said they'll get back to me to confirm. Asked about it a few days ago, no response. Asked again last night, nothing.

Nice luck right there.

Well that’s just rude on their part - shit happens, people get better offers or just plain can’t be bothered I guess, but there’s no excuse for leaving people hanging like that.

Better luck next time - I’ll have a beer with you when you’re over my way 😀

Another weekend, another adventure or headache:

Friday: going to Autozone to check the engine light and why it's on (and purchase MAF sensor cleaner, throttle and intake cleaner, and a new fuel cap*)
Saturday: bowling, thrifting, and working on my car to get rid of the stalling once and for all (does it once, not every time after changing the spark plugs, O2 sensor, fixing the exhaust, mostly, flushing and fixing the cooling system, and putting in a new thermostat**)
Sunday: laundry day and working on my mom's wheelbarrow

* current cap has cracks on the gasket, which can cause air to get into the tank
** now have heat and it feels good.

do you do fantasy?

Nope. All of my friends do, but I don't since it's a waste of time for me. I just look at the point differentials for each team (points for vs against) and calculate the correct amount of percentage per team.

1 Win = 100%
1 Loss = 0%
1 Tie = 50%

My weekend is going to be spent cleaning the house ruthlessly. Apparently this also means my computer / storage cupboard. I am taking immediate preventative measures like hiding a couple of graphics cards and building a bunch of PCs so I don't have cases and loose Components 😁

Selling off some spare PC parts, mostly from my Skylake build. Have some other things like a ThinkStation S10 lying around trying to get rid of as well.

Many many of my recent weekends have involved busily laying the bricks that resulted from the demolition of 2 chimneys in the back-half of our house (which we renovated). Both the wonky 90 year old bricks and my office worker body resisted the laying process every step of the way but the final brick went in a couple of weekends a go. I hired this monster brick saw which proved that you can argue with a brick if you have the right tools - this thing could shave off 10mm easy as you like and I still have all my fingers which is an added bonus.

With the paving done I can finally move on to retaining walls (made of lovely, forgiving, workable wood).
