I have a Radeon 9800 Pro that has a screen full of short double vertical lines || overlaying the POST text, each pair about the height of text characters and spaced about 2 characters apart horizontally. It's the same on VGA & DVI.

Does that sound like bad RAM, or do you think it's worth trying to re-cap? There are 5 normal electrolytics, none bulging, and the rest are SMD aluminum.

thanks!

Sounds like a bad block of memory TBH.

I/O, I/O,
It's off to disk I go,
With a bit and a byte
And a read and a write,
I/O, I/O

Yep, it's memory. And I bet it's infamous Samsung GDDR memory.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
