Hi all,

I've decided to put some of my adventures in videos and I made a YouTube channel. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7HbC_nq8t1S9l7qGYL0mTA

I have a fairly large software and HW collection to source ideas and work from.

I am planning some interesting thing coming up:

- Intellivision Intellivoice vs Odyssey The Voice
- working with PDP 11/23 and tape emulator
- a walkthrough most Apple computers starting from Apple II to MacPro (dual XEON) (as I have a lot in my collection)
- computer restoration and repairs
- 8-bit console game reviews
- a DEC Rainbow 100 presentation (lots of SW and HW on this one)
- etc

Current episodes up (latest at the top):

Timex Sinclair 1000 Unboxing
Amiga 500 Cleanup
Mattel Intellivision Open up and Repair
Power Macintosh HDD Upgrade
VIC-20 Motherboards bulk buy
Improving a 386 machine from eBay
A dead Odyssey 300 from eBay?
DEC PDP-11 The 16 bit computer from the '70s
How heavy are vintage computers?
Atari 2600 repair
Magnavox Odyssey 2 unboxing
Vintage Computer Collection Part 1
TRS-80 Color Computer Repair

Computer history category

Computer History: 1972 Magnavox Odyssey
Computer History: 1975 SWTPC 6800
Computer History: 1979 Atari 800 - Part 1
Computer History: 1979 Heathkit H89
Computer History: 1982 Timex Sinclair 1000

I was wondering if you were Greek ... I guess the mystery is solved. 🤣

In any case, wish you all the best with the channel, I'll have to keep an eye on it 😀.

Thank you. No, not Greek (although the last name might indicate that, I agree), but Romanian. However that was many lives ago 😀 I lived in England many years too, where I worked at PowerVR and Sony. Now in US for even more years. World traveler...

Wow, your pronunciation and your last name really made me think you were. I'd be interested in hearing more from your time at PowerVR and Sony. 😊

New video up: DEC PDP-11 The 16-bit computer of 70s

I talk about what is inside a PDP-11, it's CPU architecture, what is ODT and how to use it, type a simple program and listen to those wonderful DEC fans. 😀

New video up: A dead Odyssey 3000 from eBay?

I purchased a complete in box Magnavox Odyssey 3000 console that was advertised as "for parts or not working" and I make it work again. I like a lot the design of this console which I consider one of the most good looking of that time. Making it work again gave me a good feeling. Now I am one less short of having the complete Magnavox Odyssey collection.

New video up: 386 eBay Tinkering

Instead of building a powerful 386 machine from scratch I get one from eBay that works but it is mostly basic and I improve it. Then I see how much it costs to get a fast 386.

I will see about installing and running Linux (did it twice now, so it should be fun) on it. Slackware (8?) is my go-to choice for 386 machines.

I am working on a Computer History series. So I have a new video up: Heathkit H89

Blurb: Travel through the rich computer history, this time we take a look at the CP/M machine Heathkit H89 which was sold (for a time) as a computer kit, that one could put together. Decent specs, doubles as a terminal and good quality build makes for an interesting machine.

Thanks for watching! I am hoping to add more seminal and important machines, console, components (processors) in what I hope to be a stream of consciousness for computer history.

I was lucky to get a chance to buy some VIC-20 motherboards, new stock, in bulk. So I got a few and they finally came. Short view about unboxing and how they look: VIC-20 Motherboards bulk buy

I want to do a series on programming on PowerPC Macintoshes (pre OSX) but I discovered that my HDD on my Power Macintosh 7300/180 is too small. So this is a video about how to upgrade your SCSI HDD in a PowerMac.

Power Macintosh HDD Upgrade

Blurb: In preparation for installing Codewarrior on a Power Macintosh 7300/180 we upgrade its 1GB SCSI drive with a 9GB one. Different interface (68pin vs 50pin) so we have to use a convertor. Transfer data and dancing with different SCSI devices. In then end I end up with a much larger, much faster drive.

New episode (unplanned really) but fun nevertheless:

Opening up and repair of a Mattel Intellivision

Two lessons I learned: Don't underestimate how hard is to open 8bit consoles and the fact that the logic board of the Intellivision is damn good looking, from the color to the shape of the traces. Enjoy!

I finally took some time to deal with my Amiga 500 (donated to my collection few years ago). I had no power source, no mouse, no monitor, no software and it was VERY VERY dirty. In this first part of the series I clean it. If you like to see a teardown and cleaning of a beautiful computer, look no more:

Three new additions to Digilogue Collection: 2x Timex Sinclair 1000 and a Timex Sinclair 2040 printer (with paper!). All new in boxes with manuals and everything. I'll do a separate video about usage, this one is just unboxing:

Another computer history video: 1982 Digital Corporation (DEC) Rainbow 100.

"Computer History! One of the more rare vintage computers from Digital Corporation (DEC). Lets talk about Digital's personal computer, the DEC Rainbow 100. Released in 1982, it featured 2 processors: 8088 and Z80. Not entirely IBM PC compatible but enough to run MS DOS (and CP/M 86)."

New computer history video: 1975 SWTPC 6800

"Computer history video! We talk about the vintage computer SWTPC 6800 which was one of the first successful computers build around the Motorola 6800 CPU. It used an interesting bus, SS-50, and used to be sold as a kit."
