Hi there.

Wanting to try this. Had two copies of DOSBOX running, let´s say " Doom ". And create a multiplayer session, where one player controls are joystick and the other mouse/keyboard. Like faking "split screen".

Is it doable?

AFAIK, it's not possible. You'd have to have focus on 2 windows at the same time and I've never heard of a desktop environment that allows it.

You could modify the DOSBox source so that it runs two instances of the emulation and draws two screens in the same program but that would probably require a lot of effort.

You can run dosbox on two separate VMs with virtual NICs.

You can just start 2 instances of DOSBox on your normal OS and use something like "ipxnet connect localhost". Using the VMs wouldn't solve the problem that input (keyboard, mouse, etc) can't be sent to both instances at the same time.

With VMs you could at least hook up a second set of keyboard mouse and have it connected to the vm alone 😉

This, and run them on separate monitors if you want.
