Does anyone know anything about this HDMI header that is on some OEM X-Fi cards? Windows shows a HDMI digital output for the card as well. I guess it's for connection to some video cards? I've been wondering if this could run directly to a receiver.

I loaded the card into a Win7 machine to see what it says about the HDMI interface. I'm not sure the channel readout is accurate if it's not connected to something though. But I get the impression it's basically SPDIF.

i guess it's like a HDMI passthrough where it passes the audio stream to a HDMI cable, i don't think modern PCs need that since most graphics card have HDMI out with audio.
