Trying to install these: http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=82&menustate=0

Just get an empty C:\SGPROII directory with empty DRIVERS and UTILITIES directories. The install obviously did nothing as it claimed to finish as soon as I pressed enter and did not ask for disk 2. Can anyone confirm if they are able to install these??

Is that the 824? I recall having problems the last time I tried those myself. My workaround was to copy the files from a Waverider 32+ (826) install (exactly the same card, but with an additional Wavetable module) and use those, minus the Wavetable TSR.

In any event I generally use this collection http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=7 … menustate=41,36

Note that with the exception of a few early cards, all the gen 3 cards (AZT2316) use the same driver, as do the gen 4 (AZT2320), so you can try multiple different options.

Yep I tried the same drivers from that collection, and one of the other drivers which didn't work. I will try the Waverider drivers tonight, hopefully they work.

It's the 822, SG PRO II, and the WR drivers did not work. Don't know if it's an issue with the card, but they all say can't detect card 🙁

I actually don't believe it, I managed to get it to work!

The short story is the installer in P16II-1.ZIP is stuffed ... but another one in the same dir P16IIB-1.ZIP works (the installer, the drivers don't work with this card). I basically copied across the driver files from the first to the second, and tweaked INSTALL.INF to reflect the file sizes and other stuff...then running the second installer it unpacks the drivers/utilities from the first disk and it works! Pure OPL3 goodness coming out of my speakers. I attached the disk I put together:

Here's a link to Aztech Labs' FTP support site (it contains the drivers for most of their own Sound Galaxy range of sound cards)
The large zip file on Vogonsdrivers contains all of these drivers as well.
ftp://ftp.aztech.com/support/DOWNLOAD/sg/

However, I've attached the drivers for model I38-MMSN822. I've confirmed it works, since I have one myself.

I just wish to point out that this particular model (and all models based on the AZT-1605 chipset) is not Sound Blaster Pro II compatible in terms of it's DAC (i.e., digitized voice and sounds) and therefore can only generate these sounds in mono (ultimately, it is "identified" as a Sound Blaster 2.0)
It does, however, have an OPL3 FM synthesis chip. So, FM sounds can be generated in stereo, provided that the applicable application supports it.

@dionb, if you are looking for the drivers for I38-MMSN824, here they are.
These are not easy to find, since this particular model was normally bundled with OEM builders (like Packard Bell) or part of Multimedia kits.
This particular driver came from the Voyager Multimedia Kit.

Thanks, but not needed - the card (which was indeed PB-branded) worked perfectly with the copied 826 drivers and is now happily purring away in a complete overkill 386SX system I put together for somebody. So I don't currently have an 824.

No problem - I included this particular driver set, since it contains three 1.44 MB floppy disks worth of software (as opposed to some of the driver disks that only contains the basic software).
