Have anyone changed CT1741 on a good sound blaster with buggy hanging note to one that is bug-free like 4.05 or 4.16 instead of 4.11/4.13?

Good CT1741 IC taken from any sound blaster.

4.05 cards are quite hard (only few early SB16 models) to find and 4.16 is AWE64.

Also:
!) It's pointless anyway, because best SB16 cards are based on "bug-free" CT1747.
2) Fixing Sound Blasters 16+ is the lost cause, because all of them are riddled with various bugs.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Yes, works fine. I have documented it here: Sound Blaster 16 DSP replacement success

I also think that using a CT1747-based card as The Serpent Rider said is the better way but in my case I needed the SCSI-interface.

Michael
