I'm working on a 486 board from 1992'ish. It has 2 batteries an onboard rechargeable and an external removable pack. Both operate in the 3.6V - 4.5V range.

Problem is there's high current draw on both batteries. About 6ma. Normally it should be around 5-10uA at most.

I swapped out the 82c206 to no effect. But with that chip out of circuit, the current draw is null.

Any ideas where I can get schematics or example circuits or any info that'd be helpful in tracking it down? Had enough false starts and ideas that didn't change anything.

Discovered the RTC chip wasn’t going to sleep because it was not receiving the signal to do so.

Do you have an update on this repair?

Thank you.
