I don't know what is wrong.
It was working fine before.
New install of Win98se.
I have a Media Vision Spectrum Pro Audio PAS16P
Used Win98se default Media Vision drivers which usually work fine.
Device manager show PAS16 is working fine.

What is happening:
When the PAS16 play audio it plays with a high tone and plays really fast.

Does anyone know what is wrong ?

This is an interesting card. I've never seen a PAS16P that is missing the LMSI connector and controller chip before. Almost like a PAS16LL.

I agree that the -5v rail is the likely issue, but these cards are also speed sensitive and will have problems if you are trying to use them in anything faster than an original Pentium.

Is it the Power supply that's the problem or motherboard not supplying 5v to the ISA slots ?
I am using a 500 ATX PSU.

If it is the fact that the power supply doesn't have a -5v (negative 5 volt) output, you can get an adapter on eBay that adds the -5v.

And it could be speed related as well.

Yes, I put the PAS16 back in my AMD 5x86-P75 Overclocked @ 160mhz. computer and it works great with an AT power supply.
I really like the sound of the PAS16P
Running Win95c with Vanilla Media Vision drivers.

Your PSU lacks -5v rail. This soundcard needs it to operate properly.

May be either or both issues. You have to read your PSU and motherboard specs.
