Hello everyone.
I need to update flash bios on motherboard LS-486e(rev A), but unibios writes me "flash bios read only". On motherboard installed EEPROM chip.
CMOS setup has no parameter about flashing BIOS. In the manual also not any word about it.

Do you have a picture of said "EEPROM"?
Also never seen a 486 where can update BIOS without removing the EPROM. Think you have to use an external writer or hot-flash in another board.
I have used a HOT433 for flashing, if I remember correctly, but older boards may not be capable of this.
Never tried it on the LS486E but I recall vaguely that it gave the error "lOnger" is talking about.
Could also be an EPROM being inserted instead of an EEPROM though.
Many v3.1 Biostar MB-8433UUD boards came with an EEPROM and were programmable in-board. I think some v3.0 boards also had an EEPROM.
