Greetings all,
Build: ASUS PVI-486SP3 3.06 BIOS, Intel DX4-100Mhz 486 CPU, 16MB RAM, Paradise Bahamas 64 [S3 Trio64] VLB video card, SBPro2, OPTi MAD16 Pro [used only for General MIDI support], Sony 8x CD-ROM Drive [NOS], Sony 1.44mb Floppy Drive, Microsoft Serial Mouse, DOS 6.22, Windows 3.11 WFW
Symptoms: Certain AVI files such as the goodtimes.avi from the Windows 95 CD, or from games such as Age of Sail are horribly slow; around 1fps. Tried multiple CD drives and they all exhibit slowness during AVI playback. The slowness is in sync with the CD drive reading the AVI file. Other AVI driven apps such as Encarta '95 do not exhibit this slowness. I have all the proper Windows 3.x drivers setup for my devices, I also have Video for Windows 1.1E installed.
It could just be an unsupported codec for those AVI files but any helpful information or solutions for this is requested. Thanks in advance. 😎
