Hello VOGONS,

I have downloaded PCMark 2002 along with its Pro Pack from the FutureMark Legacy Benchmarks website. However, the application crashes when I run the video benchmarks. I am running Windows XP SP3 with hardware that is more than sufficient.
How do I fix this problem?

There is apparently a bug that causes PCMark 2002 Pro to crash on the ASF test (no. 51) if Windows Media Player 9 or WM9 codecs are installed. I believe there is no workaround. Uninstall WMP9 or run the unregistered version of the program.

Is this too much voodoo?

I don't know. I remember rolling back to WMP 7.1 when I had this problem, but don't remember how I did it. It didn't work anyway, as PCMark 2002 Pro continued to crash. Next time I fresh install Windows XP I'm going to investigate this.

In the end I just ran the unregistered version. (You will have to manually delete the registration information in the registry.)
