Better replace the power supply, it only supplies 300 mA, while the MT-32 needs a 650 mA power supply (shown on your second photo).

Yup, that's why I haven't plugged it in yet. Plus, no point til I get some midi cables.

I need to look up how to tell center-positive / center-negative on such power supplies. Apparently the MT-32's is backwards from most. Then I'll see about getting a universal PS that matches the MT-32's specs...

Can usually test which is negative with a multimeter, set to ohms or continuity and put one lead on a piece of bare metal on the chassis/ground plane. Then put the other lead on/in the center and then shell. Whichever is nearly zero ohms (or zero ohms) is usually the negative. (This isnt 100% though, but its a good start)

2x Yamaha XG Special CD-ROM (sealed). One I already owned, in a less than stellar box. The other is new to me, and so was opened. Both include demo versions of Yamaha software, some MIDI files, and picture galleries.
IO Data IF-SEGA/ISA: ISA (duh) interface card to use Sega Saturn peripherals in Win 9x. It also includes Sega Greatest Hits Series Vol. 3, with demo versions of 9 Sega PC titles.

Also a picture of the Roland JV-35 I picked up earlier:

Very nice! Been searching high and low for a SiS ss7 board with agp slot... if it works and you want to sell it, let me know. I found one version (forgot the brand) and it is in storage right now because it is missing some parts and hopefully I get it working one day. But the Asus version I really like. Can you try an unmodded Tillamook on that board please if you have one?

Will see tomorrow (if I have time...) if it's working, will then try with P266MMX Tillamook as well while I'm at it. After that... who knows, but I have too much stuff here already, so you might be in luck 😉

Nothing wrong with having some luck 😎

I have a working ECS P5SJ-A (sis chipset, no agp) that without any mods works with the tillamook WITH L2, even 4x75mhz is fine and stable. I also have the ECS P5SD-B (sis chipset with agp) which is the damaged one, the voltage regulators are ripped off. Really hoping to fix it one day but when asked here, no one could provide a picture of the needed components and pics on the web are very scarce.

On the other hand Asus boards are the ones I collect and use the most in my builds but none of my s7 and ss7 Asus boards boot with a tillamook with working cache, even after the mod.
So it wouldbe awesome to have that board and even greater if that one does work with a Tillamook with working L2 (with or without mod).

asus p5a, k6-3+ @ 550mhz, voodoo2 12mb sli, gf2 gts, awe32

Some luck, yes, but not all of it. The board works (despite the PSU in the system it was in dying after three boots...), booting happily into Win98SE with the K6/266. No such luck with the Tillamook though, complete 00 on POST card.

Can't be sure who's to blame here, as I've never tested this Tillamook before now, so can't be certain it works at all... will have to look at what it does in say a P5A to know what this 00 means.

Any particular reason why you did not go for much easier to acquire black drives and covers?

The case is blue. I have a black case that my other Windows 98SE machine is in.

Hey Artex, I'm super interested in your Voodoo mags but can't seem to PM (maybe from new account?). I know this isn't exactly the thread / place for it but let me know if there's a way to get in touch to talk more, thanks!

I know black is the new gold these days, but no need to push that part of the political agenda towards computer parts... dont be racis. 🤣

I drove 9 hours each way through a spring blizzard in order to pick up an item. Almost hit the ditch myself, but made it through. Return trip, 60-70 vehicles still in the ditch and they're expecting the recovery to take a week in total. But a drive through the mountains is still enjoyable. Stayed overnight, poked at things a bit, will require work. But a hint:

Your trip sounds way more exciting than my trip to the Windy City. Looking forward to your progress on this.
