For the past few years I've been threatening to grow chillies every spring. Never actually managed to do it until this year. So being without a garden, I used every available windowsill in my apartment and planted 20 (ish) various firethrowing chillies (hot lemon, habanero, birdeye and ghost) from seed. Looked after them lovingly, and replanted them into 15cm pots once they had grown a few inches. I know the pots are supposed to be much larger and I restricted the growing ability of the plants by using smaller ones, but I don't have space / room to grow large plants.
Fast forward a few months and after giving half of them away to family and friends (didn't have the room) I'm now plucking chillies on a daily basis and boosting my home cooked curries to almost suicide levels of heat. I even throw them on pizzas and quiches. Fast becoming immune to the weaker ones. Can eat a full vindaloo with 1/2 a ghost pepper without needing to swab my nose. Not sure if all this is a good thing! But my kids do remark how the apartment smells nice these days, in an exotic eastern sort of way.
So yeah, curries and pizzas, mostly. And milk...
..... lots of ice cold milk.
