Nice system. It's good you switched from the normal to the + version of the K6...you can play earlier DOS games now using setmul. The MX300/V3 combination is great for Half Life too.

Your K6-2+ clocked at 600 MHz has a similar score to a VIA C3 Ezra-T clocked at 1200 MHz..

Nice that you held onto your first PC, not many people did and pay a small fortune to rebuild it.
You did better then me, I found it hard to upgrade when I dusted mine off a few years back as it wouldn't be "authentic"
My solution, build another similar PC with the better parts 😀

One of the first upgrades I've got on my K6-2 back in like... 99 ? was the Diamond Viper V770 Ultra (which I paired with the Monster 3D to keep Glide compatibility). The card was awesome... but now the fan doesn't work anymore so I've removed it... and need to find a replacement. I've also had a V4 4500 AGP in there... but I've damaged the card removing the heatsink... so that's why I've put a GeForce4 MX420.

I have a V5 5500 AGP which I've modded with copper heatsinks (Vantec Iceberq)... but I doubt it would perform any better than my V3 3000 on that K6-2+... I could bench it...
