The Apocalyptic Game about Penguins (TAGAP) has been around for over ten years. The latest release is Version 3 with Version 4 on the way. Plenty of downloads in addition to the first three games, the first two of which have been remastered:

Happy Halloween! The famous (or infamous, depending on how you look at it) PS4 P.T. Silent Hill demo from 2014 has been recreated for the PC. Available on itch.io.

Halloween doesn't end quite yet. Yet another amazing Silent Hill tribute on the PC. This time someone has recreated the first portion of the PS1 Silent Hill game, but in a first person perspective. According to the author this is a completed project, but still a neat concept.

It's about books and not games but I felt that this is the right place to post this since some books relate to games anyway.
Fusion Retro Books give for free 7 of their books in pdf right now,

I hope it's not too wrong for this thread but I bet it's a thread a lot of people monitor and it's an offer not to be missed in my opinion

K, this is pretty dang awesome! Homage to DOS EGA games and it's a ton of fun IMO. Play online or free download. Gameplay reminds me a bit of Ghosts 'n Goblins with a Redneck Rampage character overtone.

If you were lucky enough to grab this (it's not available anymore unless you become a Patreon donor) make sure to grab the "Silent Hills Cutscene map" which is free. If you are not familiar, a modder recently found a way into the outside town in the original PS4 teaser demo. That has also been recreated for us PC gamers.

So... Just in case anyone wasn't aware yet, the copy of Half Life 2 you get via the "time limited" trial on Steam is still seemingly DRM-free. I don't know if it'll delete the files or just remove it from the launcher once the trial period is up, but there's nothing stopping you from copying it to another location and running it however you like.

Note that I've only tested the Mac & Linux versions so far, but I'd be surprised if the Windows one isn't the same.

(I suppose they could have built in a date check or something, but it doesn't look like it's been updated since Feb. 2019 so who knows.)

I usually don't get political, but it's Super Bernie World! Trump even makes an appearance.

Free MS-DOS game just released. (when have you heard that lately?) Many other vintage platform versions as well.

https://8bitgames.itch.io/rabenstein

Also, three commercial Commodore games are now free @ Doublesided Games

1.) Fire (VIC-20)
2.) L’Abbaye des morts (C64)
3.) Vegetables Deluxe (C64)

Just choose the digital download version of those games on their website, fill out some basic info and checkout.

Recently I stumbled upon (by which I mean, it was mentioned here) a really neat game called The Fertile Crescent. It's obviously inspired by the Age of Empires but with some really neat twists on gameplay mechanics. It's still in development (current version is 0.5.4) but very playable, both singleplayer on a random map and multiplayer. The pixel art style is also really well done IMO.
Here's a gameplay video:

Not a free game, but GOG has yet another free "goodies" pack up on their front page for a limited time called the "Spring Sale Goodies Collection #1". (avatars, artbooks, soundtracks, wallpapers)

To add the "care package" tables to your steam library so that you will keep them forever, go to any one of the tables included in the package. Wxample:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/646670/Pin … iens_vs_Pinball

Then, click the "download" button in the "care package" box. It will not actually download anything, but.will add the tables to your account.
