I recently bought an HP thin client t5720, but had really hard time finding a PCI expansion module. I noticed that there're generic PCI riser cards readily available with 3 different lengths (2.5cm, 3.5cm and 4.7cm) but I can't figure out which to buy (can't be the 2.5cm one though).
I've also read that capacitors are needed to be soldered into the official PCI expansion module in order to get it to work with some cards like AOpen Cobra AW744L-II (which is the card I have). But with those generic riser cards there's nowhere to solder in capacitors. Can I scratch the pins a little bit and give out some copper and add caps? If so, where should I add them?
