Hey everyone,

I just recently acquired a good old K6/2-500, soon do be upgraded to a K6/2-550+ 😀

The box has an AWE64 (CT4520) installed, which seems to cause quite some troubles right now.

When I run Quake with -nosound it's pretty darn fast... But as soon as I enable sound again, it slows down dramatically, so that even the lowest res is far from playable/fluid.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? How'd you go about troubleshooting this? Try other drivers?

Cheers,

CF

Wrong forum. As per the description of this forum: "Getting old DOS games working on modern hardware. (DOSBox topics belong in DOSBox areas below, not here)." Ask old hardware and driver/configuration questions in Marvin. Marvin, the Paranoid Android
