This isn't exactly a retro laptop. In fact, it isn't even a proper laptop. However, I'm running Windows XP on it so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me.
I purchased a 2011 HP 6360t Mobile Thin Client last year and immediately replaced the 4GB SDD with a 120 GB HDD to make the thin client more usable as a cheap laptop for Windows 7. I've now decided that I want to run XP on it, but there's one missing device driver that's holding me back. I have absolutely no idea what sound chip is in this thing. HP's documentation simply states "HD Audio" which is incredibly vague. Since this thin client is basically an HP Probook 6360b without the webcam and Core i5, I've been downloading my drivers for that model. Sure enough, the graphics, ethernet, and WiFi drivers work fine, but the sound drivers refuse to install because they aren't detecting an IDT HD Audio CODEC device. I've tried multiple IDT drivers and none of them work. I even tried some Realtek drivers in case that's the "HD Audio" HP was referring to, but that didn't work either. Aside from reinstalling Windows 7 and trying to get info from device manager, I'm not sure what to do. Windows XP drivers have to exist because HP offered Embedded 2009 Standard for this model. Perhaps I could extract the drivers from the 2009 image?
