Hi, yes, I was able to successfully update to generic Intel BIOS 1.00.18.CS1, download the bios and follow the instructions in bioinstr.txt file that's included with the bios to make a bootable floppy with the bios. After that shut down the computer, move jumper 4-6 to 2-4 and power on. It will come on with no video output, no beeps, after a while it will reboot and you will see missing Gateway 2000 bios logo and instead you'll see Intel version .18.
I attached all the drivers and BIOS and docs I collected for this board.
In retrospective, I wish I didn't upgrade the BIOS. I would have preferred to keep the nice Gateway 2000 boot logo and for large disc support I ended up using Promise SATA 150TX2 Plus PCI card anyway with its own BIOS. The motherboard chipset gave me problems when combining CD-ROM with SATA-IDE Adaptors, even when on different channels. The Promise card is also faster.
