Now, this might be a silly question but; I can understand that there would be 2 speeds listed on a drive, i.e. the max burn speed (usually lowest number of the two) and a maximum read speed (probably the higher number) but why do CD records list 3 speeds? Usually in the format of; 4x/4x/24x... This would obviously be a 4x speed burner that can read at a maximum of 24x speed. But, whats the middle speed for (or first depending on how you interpret it)?

Hmm. That might make sense. I wasn't under the impression that the recorders I was looking at were re-writers as well. I guess they must be... 😀
