I'm trying to make up some retro framed processors and I'd like to use quotes from PC Mag. But I want to replicate their font. I tried googling and nothing.

So this is a long shot. Anyone know/remember what font PC Mag used?

Have you tried emailing them and asking?

I used to edit a printed magazine seven years ago and I remember one time our designer used some kind of a plugin in Adobe InDesign to identify a font from an image. It worked to some degree. I'll be damned if I remember how he did that, but maybe there's some online tool these days that can do that.

They used a lot of fonts in different places over the years... show an example of the one you want, it'll help us help you.

WhatTheFont and FontSquirrel does try at least. I'm assuming this thread is referring to the old Impact-looking font

First you might want to try reading the questions you're replying to.

@kingcake: those look like Helvetica Condensed Black (title) and Times New Roman (paragraph). The printing or the scan makes them a little bit "heavier"/bolder than the typical result on a screen, but there are a few ways to replicate that effect.

Yes, the font of the copy is definitely Times New Roman, that "f" is a dead giveaway
