I've got a Quickshot Command Pad, and a nice armchair. Sometimes I just like to lean back and do some controller gaming, and I'm looking for a wider range of games that go perfectly with a d-pad and a couple of buttons. There are all the obvious platformers of course: Jazz, Keen, Gods, Prince of Persia. I discovered that Star Control 2 is a great controller game too.

What are your suggestions? I'm open to any kind of game!

shmups like tyrian, raptor, overkill etc., and perhaps any racing/fighting games with decent gamepad support.

For a fun racing/shooting game, look for Dynamix/Activision's Death Track. It should run well on a 386 IIRC:

Dynamix' other 89-91 3D stuff are also very 386 appropriate. Stellar 7, Die Hard, Mechwarrior... but as for quickshot gamepad control implementation i'm probably not sure.

Nice range of suggestions and some tasty looking things to check out. Cheers!

I forgot to mention that I have Lotus III. A great MT-32 game!

Champ Kong? It also supports game pads on parallel port, I remember.

Edit: Also interesting.: Jill of Jungle, Vinyl Goddess from Mars, Skyroads, MegaMan X, Jetpack, Jazz Jackrabbit,..

Just remembered Duke Nukem I should run on a 386. Not sure if Duke Nukem II does.

vinyl runs like garbage on my 386sx 16, but I'm sure it would run fine on a high end 386
