Does anyone have any ideas on if it's possible? I have been trying but no luck - I can get EGA to work, but CGA is what I'm trying to get at.
Specifically, I am trying to get Windows 95 to play nice with my Compaq Portable 386 - it has special drivers "plasma.drv" and "Plasma.3gr" that work with Windows 3 - 3.11, but I can't get them to work with Windows 95. I believe the plasma drivers run Windows 3 / 3.11 in monochrome mode which the Compaq Portable 386 supports, but the compaq has jumpers also for CGA emulation mode.
https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12325 - seems like others have reached the same conclusion in that CGA (and by extension the plasma drivers) won't work with Windows 95... does anyone know why? Would anyone know where to start if one were to try modify the drivers to work for Win 95? I have the expansion chassis for my Compaq, and windows 95 is pretty zippy with a Mach 64 ISA card and external monitor - but I want to see how it performs with it's internal plasma display.
Any ideas welcome!
