I have full set of IBM PS/2 Model 40SX. 386SX/20mhz/4mb ram/MCGA/ISA16 with ESS688 SB Clone. Though I have plenty of fast 286's this machine is for a good alternative for them - as it works on the same speed - even in Test Drive III, and also can run some 32 bit software...
Yes, I have an IBM PS/2 but the battery bust and leaked acid all over the motherboard and ruined it.
I might have another PS/2 in my garage not sure.
But I went with the PS/1 instead because it has a metal case not cheap plastic.
and it uses not proprietary components so it is east to fix, upgrade and repair.
The PS/2 uses proprietary components and is difficult to repair, fix, and upgrade.
Also I wanted the flexibility of a more modern bios.
That's why I decided to assemble my own 386 from selected components.
How can I make this build better ?
Using parts made or assembled in USA.
