x850 is the max ATI card that works on 9x

you can't use that on 9x it doesn't work.

Unfortunately, there is no Windows 9x or ME driver for any ATI cards newer than the x800/x850 family and their lower specced members (x700, x600, etc). The last ATI driver set supporting the aforementioned cards and OSes is Catalyst 6.2 .
