I see your profile says that, I should have seen it 😀 It's probably too expensive to ship it to the UK, but if not, and if nobody closer wants to test it, my offer will stand.

Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

I am in the USA (California), sorry for not specifying.

I live in USA a few states away and have a handful of 486 boards that support Dx100 and DX120 and could test it but feipoa is the member you want to actually test it based on your location. He is one of the most experienced with various boards and chips here at Vogons in our corner of the world. If you are serious about sending it to someone I suggest him or you could send it to me. Either way would take some time to test/dissect it. Just a thought...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Horun: I sent you a PM, I'd be happy to take you on your offer. Actually, the seller was gracious enough to send a 2nd chip (that looks identical to the first), so that would provide an even better test subject.

I tried the 2nd chip in my computer and predictably I could not get it to post.

Last chance offer, anyone want to try these chips? Again, if they work you can keep them. Otherwise I will be returning them to the seller.

Will you get a refund if you return them ? If so that would be best for you, otherwise yes I could check them out

Horun: did you get a chance to test them?

I'm kinda late to the party, but came across this thread after buying a SK096 that looks identical to OP's, weird logo and everything. Probably the same seller too, since he said "They are an over buy on a large project to populate circuit boards".

Mine works just fine in the Zida 4DPS ver. 2.11 with patched BIOS 4.00A. It even overclocks to 120 mhz with no problems, benchmarking higher than my last 486 PCI w/ 5x86 @ 133. I can't help but think there's an unexplained incompatibility between OP's (IBM OEM) motherboard and these unusual SK096's.

Edit: Forgot to add that mine shows as "Intel DX4" when booting, and is also running at 3.3v.

Builds:

  • ECS FX-3000; 386DX-40@50; ET4000AX, ISA 1mb
  • Acer VI9; 486DLC-40; Mach32, VLB 2mb
  • Chicony CH-471A; CX486s-40; Mach32, VLB 2mb
  • Gateway 2000 P5-60; Pentium-60@66; S3 928, PCI 3mb
  • DTK PKM-0033S; AM5x86-133@160
