A basic boot yields 615K free conventional memory, where successive DOS tasks launched from Ensemble (via TaskMgr) each have a respectable 591K available to work with.

There was this free boot disk that I've got in the late 90s/early 2000s..
I've also learned that DOS 7.03 has an useful utility named filelink.exe.
It can transfer file via serial cable.

Hi there, glad to hear! Both GEOS 1 and 2 are neat, I think!
If memory serves, the CGA drivers of either system allow to define colours in hi-res mode, even!
