I've also managed to 'bypass' the 12 to 5.2V regulator (shorts instead of CR4A1 and CR4A2 diodes).
The motherboard gives signs of live (it gets into sort of infinite loop).

Interesting, I thought that the 12V to 5.2V regulator would be bypassed when the voltage jumper is set to 60MHz (5.0V). I also have this board with the assembled regulator, and when I turned it on, the CR4A2 diode burned out. Are you sure that I can simply bypass it? Why are these present?

Hi there.
Those diodes 'separate' +5V line from voltage derived from 12-> (5V,5.2V) converter.
By 'bypassing', I meant removing all the circurity for converting 12V-> (5V,5.2V) and shorting those diodes so the CPU gets full voltage from +5V line.

Hi, thanks for your explanation. I think i will remove the linear voltage regulator (because i dont need 5.27V) and short those diodes.

Hi.
I've just found, that there is a more elegant way to do 'the bypass' that 'mine'...

Instead of replacing CR4A1, CR4A2 diodes with 'wires', just remove them and add three zero ohm SMD "resistors" as R4A1. R4A2, R4A3.
I'm almost sure this what was done in latter models of this motherboard...

I already replaced the diods with wires and removed the irfz44 MOSFET to "disable" the voltage regulator. Board is working again. 😁

Great !
👍👍👍

I've just acquired another "batman" with RAM issues.
The story will continue 😉

I wonder what those ram issues are. My batman's revenge gets unstable when inserting more than 64MB ram. Maybe it's because of aging caps
