Instead of using scanreg /restore I tried scanreg /fix and it found and fixed some issues with the registry. So far (touch wood), no Illegal Operation errors have popped up. So here's hoping that's solved that issue as well. 😁
All that's left now is the Safely Remove Hardware icon...
