While testing my ISA VGA cards for compatibility with the GALAXEUS engine, I found a 16-bit ISA VGA card that completely blows everything else out of the water:

the MCT-VGA-16 (Chipset: TD3588A).

I'm getting 544 x 480 at 89 Hz with solid 89 FPS on my 386SX test board!

I think this is slowly reaching the absolute limit for ISA VGA cards.

In summary, I only encountered problems with the GALAXEUS engine on one of the tested VGA cards:

The Ahead AVGA/DELUXE (BIOS v2.03) did not set the Set/Reset registers to 0 when initializing Mode 12h via the VGA BIOS.

The GALAXEUS engine now sets these registers itself, which solves the problem.

I was also able to optimize the size. The DOS binary is now only 54.7 KB. Everything is included: audio samples, sprites, all in a monolithic .COM file.
