I hope we can get this working. It's my 2nd CM i think, but its still one of the bests 😀 I can still do any tests, but i need clues!

Only answer I can think of would be a cracked CM2.exe which doesn't pull up any Laserlok issues.
The protection is single-stepping through the device handler for the CD, looking for some register-init code which does not exist in DOSBox.
It also patches that code to avoid finding it again, so it must be in writable memory, if we ever decide to support that.
Then it searches for the port-in of 17x or 1fx.
We'd need 11 particular bytes in the handler to make it work.
Meanwhile, I'll see about making a patch for it.
uh-oh so this (is this the essence of laserlok?) wouldn't work for a SCSI or nonstandard IDE CDROM...
