About Mask of Eternity patch - the game need "KQGame::FPSLimit 60" string in console.cs. 15 FPS = heavy tearing with in-game inventory and main menu shields. Especially with the 3dfx mode.

By the way, this "where to get the missing files" quesion is the main reason to avoid GoG, Steam or others digital distributions. Any digital distribution w/o the cd/dvd-image of the traditional release is potential heap of errors, glitches and bugs. Plus almost all digital releases are ripped.

I have never seen this tearing. Could it be with older cards? Do you have a screenshot?

The missing files are mainly because of the 2006 VU release, which most of the games came from. These were developed by a 3rd party, I think from Russia that had no idea about SCI games and VU cared little. They were released on CD. I have been told that the Steam release is mostly unchanged, including the funky launcher. As I said earlier, the patch was originally developed to fix the VU release.

I have not thought about it. I will contact GOG's development team when I have a chance to look over the other games. The best thing is for them to correct their releases so that those who have purchased them can download the corrected versions.

BTW, a while back I also put together an add-on pack that will add some of the freebees, demos and video clips that came with the earlier collections, if there is any interest. It is a pretty hefty DL at nearly 180MB.

Ok, I have installed and tested the game again.
It looks like the ddraw mode is working good with the 15 FPS. The FPS drop is very low (1-2 FPS). No tearing.
3dfx mode, especially with dynamic lightming=on is skipping more frames (FPS=8-10). So - the tearing is here... With FPSLimit=60 the resulting FPS is 25-30 and the trouble is avoided.

I get no tearing in 3dfx with it set to 15, but dynamic lighting has always slowed the game down too much for me. Increasing it does seem to help some, but not enough to make it playable with dynamic lighting. Perhaps a difference in cards?
