I have the same board in an mITX case. Getting it to POST has not been possible so far, it seems really picky about memory. What memory are you using in yours?

I can confirm the board is very picky about memory, hard disk, cd / dvd - lots of things! I built mine into a "shoebox" style case because I found desktop components were what it expected. I have some Kingston 512mb sticks which have been solid.
There is a new VIASBCFG utility here on vogons for the soundblaster part - highly recommended, then I also load VIAFMTSR for the MIDI (I manage to get Adlib or SB Pro MIDI).

And oh my gosh.... I have to say if you put anything in that single PCI slot, make it a Voodoo2! It's so much fun, and I can confirm I have Tomb Raider working in pure DOS with 3dfx support (using the Voodoo Rush patch).
I had a USB 2.0 card in - but I now have Laplink USB cable, and I use FastLynx - so the need for file transfers on flash drives is much reduced.

Oooh - for Windows 98 - take a look at the RLoew legacy bits and pieces. I've made a custon Windows 98 install and these help greatly.
