Lovely graphics card and I like your test bench, reminds me of my setups 😀

Regarding the cooler, there are quite a few versions. The better ones have a copper core, they should be good for 3 GHz at least.

Thanks Phil, I'm your great fan 😉

and thanks for your info about the heatsink, I must check again - I've got many of these through years.

I have a similar build (after the previous P4P800-E died, it was replaced with a P4C800-E, but otherwise left the same).

I recommend 2GB RAM, especially for a fully patched XP. 6600GT is the card I have in it as well, and it's been rock solid, but as you know, YMMV.

Testing in progress! At the end, I've left the PSU (after a good cleaning) I've found inside this case just yesterday:

I would advise updating GPU-z and CPU-z.

GPU-z displays TMU number from 6.7 version and can show/record VRAM usage.
Newer CPU-z can do benchmark tests on CPU.

Thanks for your advice, I'll give it a try - CPUID and GPU-Z you see in my screens are the versions included in Windows XP ICE edition V6 😉

I have another Creative SoundBlaster Live! in my closet, can it be useful with this configuration? Or the sound board integrated in the P4P800-E Deluxe is way better?

I don't think the onboard audio is better overall. What I liked about it is that it was 8-channel (one of the first boards to feature 8-channel) with a full set of 6 jacks. But at least on my unit it was prone to PCI interference causing static noise. I eventually turned it off and went with an Audigy 2 ZS.

Thanks dr_st, so I guess I should try it?

Well, if you are not experiencing any issues with the onboard audio, and you are not lacking features - I'd just leave it be...
