Trying the freeze method as well. I soaked the chip+heatsink in a bowl of water first. There is a good razor blade high slot between them except for two strips along 2 of the edges , where the real adhesive sits. So I’m hoping as it freezes they ice hydraulic pressure may break the glue bond as well. Will see.

As in you're using the water's expansion when freezing to pop it off? I wouldn't do that, it could stress or crack the ceramic material as well
