Was kind of surprised to see my old post still getting replies! I have been using the patches in this FTP directory to enable the Tandy 3-voice sound: http://ftp.oldskool.org/pub/TandySoundPatches/isa/1e0/
This box is still going strong and is one of my most used old computers, I'm now using an HP D1182A monitor with it which provides a very similar image as the IBM PS/2 monitor from my memories (matte screen and very sharp text) as that trisync monitor in the original post is better used elsewhere. If you're considering a computer like this, forget about the Tandy VGA monitors unless you really value everything matching as the picture quality is truly horrible. The matching mouse and keyboard are also very bad, I'm currently using a model M keyboard and "period correct" Logitech mouse. I've also added an Etherlink III NIC and a Cyrix 387SX FPU (for all the good that does, lol). I plan to upgrade the HDD at some point as what's in there is just what I had lying around at the time and it's getting full. Going to use another mechanical drive, I want to hear hard drive noises from this particular machine.
The volume pot is now shot and no amount of deoxit will fix it, so I assume there is internal damage (sound still works if it is held in one spot but at a very high volume). Anyone know what the part number is or where to get a drop-in replacement? Examining the pot itself or the Tandy parts list yields no info.
