To be honest: there were simply not enough financial incentives to encourage the IP holder (Softstar) providing an official translation (or they would have done so when they started selling the game on Steam just a month earlier than this thread), while fan-made translation could be affected more easily, even by benign and mundane matters like changing a job, graduation, or moving, not to mention more serious reasons like health problems or financial crisis.

Learning Chinese might be a faster route, and I'm not 100% joking: I learned English far better than my classmates in junior/senior high schools partly due to playing text-rich games in English, namely Railroad Tycoon, Civilization, and Ultima Underworld.

Actually, there is a working DOS port now.
