Got this from ebay today
Now I can fill my PCI motherboard.
Do you have a fpu for that ? More pics ?
The nx587 never really got a general release. It would have required another motherboard design because neither the existing VL-Bus nor the PCI motherboards had a socket for it.
And this model does not have the FPU built in. The ones with the FPU are black and are labeled 'PF' instead of just 'P' so the FPU version would be PF-100 and the one without would be P-100. These also came in P-75,P-80,P-90, P-120, and P-133 versions. The 80 and 90 seem to be the most common. The 120 and 133 must be really rare, though, because I have only ever seen 1 P-120 and have yet to see a P-133 for sale. That guy in China still has his PF-100 for sale on ebay, but there is no way in hell he gets $850 for it unless he sells it to a Saudi prince.
Oh, and the K6 was mostly based on the unreleased nx686, that had a 387 based FPU built in. That is the reason why the floating point performance on the K6 is so awful, the FPU is not much more than a supercharged version of a 387 like the nx586 is basically a supercharged 386. Nexgens' designs were all based on 386 technology taken to the extreme. That's why you have to patch Windows 9x to recognize it otherwise the installer thinks it's looking at a 386 and won't run.
