Apparently it is possible but takes a bit of effort. If the card has a LanWorks BootWare Boot ROM the process looks to be:
- Do the initial setup with the ISA NIC
- Boot to the desktop and shut it down
- Install the PCI NIC, boot to the desktop (to let windows install the drivers) and shut it back down
- Remove the ISA NIC
I don't have any PCI NICs with one of those Boot ROMs to try it out though. Possibly this might work with other brands too - I do have a few RTL1839 NICs somewhere and Realtek has a NetWare Ready Firmware ROM image available for download. I'll have to buy an EPROM writer some time and have a go.
