Interesting. Cool that you still have the receipt. Most of the sites I looked at indicated February of 2000, with review samples being made available late 1999. I had a 32MB TNT2 Ultra back then and I remember being ticked off because I just got it when I heard of the upcoming release of the DDR version of the Gf256 that kicked my card's ass.

3€ find !
An IBM Thinkpad 390X ! And it works perfectly !
However, just look at this ...
That hinge was really damaged and wasn't attached to anything anymore. Fortunately I managed to screw it back to one spot underneath the laptop (the screw that was supposed to be there was missing. The second screw was there, but it wasn't attached to anything anymore due to the broken plastic, so I moved it underneath).
I also had to hack a connector for the HDD as the caddy was missing and I had to bring some RAM because there was none left.
I hope that fix will last though. I might try to 3D print something and glue it there, hoping that it will stick enough to stay in place

Honestly though, saying you got yours in 1999 and it only being a week from 2000 is not that much of a victory in my eyes. This feels like a pyrrhic victory to me.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
Either way, a nice Xmas present for oneself!

It's kind of weird it got released before most of the reviews. Got this card as a christmas gift from my parents (also paid a bit myself) and used it as my main card until September 2002 when I got a Radeon 9700 Pro. Were aming for the ATI Rage Fury Maxx, but I'm glad I ended up with the Annihilator Pro instead.

Well, it's 40 days before what Wikipedia states.
I got this SC-55 today in the Email. It was listed as untested / defective. Seller only had a universal power supply, and could test no further than showing that display and buttons were ok. Let's cross fingers that it is in working condition!
I haven't had time for the hobby for a few weeks, but today I got bored with studying and went on a short goodwill store tour. Nothing remarkable I thing, but this is what I bought:
I have a pile of 5.25" FDD's laying around, this is a retro-correct storage solution:
Asus 3DP-V3000 PCI. Riva 128 based. Might be useful in a DOS build someday. And it was 50 cents so...
Old Apple mouse. I don't 'do Apple' but felt the need to liberate this one from the pile. Needs a good cleaning.

After years of searching, I now have not one, not two but three VLB VGA cards all of a sudden 😎
The CHIPS card has a damaged memory socket but it still works fine since none of the pins are missing. I considered replacing it, but decided against it ultimately.

Nice CHIPS card! I wonder if it supports both SOJ (the 512kB chips currently present) and DIP chips at the same time, so you could upgrade it to 2MB...
I'm pretty sure it does. The same system can be seen on some S3 805 and CL-5428 cards.
Requests are also possible... /msg kixs
It sure does, but I have no DIP20 256Kx4 60nx chips to do that, and the only ones I can find online are pretty damn expensive 🙁 so I just upgraded the CL-GD5428 to 2MB and am using that, though apparently the C+T 64300 is the better card..

Might not be so good anyway due to missing "cache" sockets.

Yeah I also noticed no onboard cache or sockets on the card, but beggars can't be choosers.. Besides, no idea how much of an impact they have.. And the CL cards have no cache either, I think?

Bought yesterday on fleamaket, about US $40
Both 386 pcchips motherboards are working, no leaked battery damage.
3 486 motherboards : MS4144, Pcchips m915 and a ECS UA4982, this motherboard is somewhat strange, no battery no odin chip, nothing.
3 socket 7 motherboard
And some other components
P3 1000
Fic kc19+ (i820)
256m rdram
Why is it interesting? It has 2 isa slots 😀

Nice! I bought this model few days ago too. It is so nice bacause it combines i820 chipset + rambus + ISA… or even more… two ISA's - very rare combination.
