ViA C3 models are insane. All these are valid CPUs:

  • VIA C3 800MHZ 133x6 1.65V Samuel2 CPU
  • VIA C3 800MHZ 133x6 1.35V Ezra CPU
  • VIA C3 800MHZ 133x6 1.45V Ezra-T CPU
  • VIA C3 800MHZ 133x6 1.25V Nehemiah CPU

So confusing!

Will you still be performing updates to VIAFSB by the way?

I would love to, but I am stuck as I have not been able to make any progress on making it work properly. If only I could see the source code for SoftFSB to see what trick I am missing!

Ah, I apologize! It is in fact an Ezra-T. My Ezra is 900mhz (9 x 100) and lacks the capacitors at the top.

No need to apologize - the VIA C3 CPU models are a royal mess. I think we need to create a database of all known VIA C3 models to save future generations from grief!
But in the meantime, the ViA C3 100x10 Ezra CPU remains a unicorn - never to be seen in the wild.

The 1ghz Ezra (non-T) will have capacitors on at the top and bottom of the core but not at the sides. The one pictured is the 133mhz FSB variant, but if a 100mhz model existed, I don't see why it should be different.

It remains to be seen whether that stepping of the Ezra had write combining fixed, since it seems to be different than my 900mhz chip or the 933mhz chip pictured next to it at Hexus... We can clearly see that it's an Ezra by the 1.35v marking on the bottom.

I also want to add that in general, the FSB rating is not that relevant for Ezra (at least in Dos/Win9x), because although it's locked at post, you can override it with a utility at OS boot. So combined with something that changes your FSB, you can take a 7.5 x 133 chip and turn it into a 9 x 100 chip.
