This make me think, probably the printing has evolved on newer cpus (let's say from 386 to pentium mmx) to avoid such problems? I mean with the winchip I didn't notice any printing problem, while with the 386 just after an hour and half some letters were somewhat less visible.
Well now I can use this cpu as test for all the treatments since it can't get worse than this.
Next step is to try the henkel sidol metallpolitur.

This brings up another problem us retro guys have.

We need a way to re silk screen old cpus..

Is it possible?

3D print some masks/stencils... roller paint/ink over them.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
