At a thrift store near me I got myself The Settlers and Settlers 2 for 75 Eurocents each 😁
I already had these, but having an extra copy of a game you like is never a bad idea...riiight? 😜

Huge score carlostex...very nice...especially SlipHeed and LL1. I find that Slipheed is VERY hard to find in the original box for a decent price. Dune is a big score as well.

Did everything come with the original manuals as well?

Always nice to have the original games in original boxes...I really think one day they are going to be worth a mint...it may take a couple decades, but it will happen for sure...I see them getting more rare every year...it's harder to find because even younger people that haven't even played old dos games are staring to collect them now too.

I've talked to too many people (here on Vogons as well) who have thrown out their old boxes and only kept the CD's and disks...it makes me cringe.

Space! All those boxes begin to take up so much space! My compromise, regrettable as it is, is to cut the box top and back off and store the lot in a poly bag. I keep unmolested copies of some games, generally rarities or favorites, but most get 'chopped'. Then in file boxes and into a storage closet. Collectors wince but it's a compact way to retain at least some of the original artwork and packaging..

Games on "shelf display" rotate in and out of storage according to mood and whim.

Not a game as such, but I think it's cool 😀 Does anyone remember seeing this in shops outside of the UK?

I had another with just the CDs and the graphic novel, but this one is complete. Big box, the book, graphic novel, the games and the soundtrack 😀

Very fun games! I loved the lost vikings and although I've never played Street Rod 2 much, the first is an old favourite - I can still play the PC speaker rock-a-billy intro music in my head! I think they'd moved on to adlib support by #2 though.

Yes, Street Rod 2 has AdLib support and is quite a more difficult game to finish than its predecessor. Search for a Street Rod copy continues.

And i envy you, you have a box copy of Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Off Road. It's an awesome game!

Yes I've given up on finding street rod 1, it's out there somewhere though! Good luck in your quest.

I got lucky on that copy of Ironman, I got it from a very nice guy in Canada who packed it well and shipped it quite cheaply. And yes it is a great game, very addictive. My brother and I played it for hours back in the day, giggling like mad men every time the little car bounced off the walls 😀

Last week I got myself another couple DVD boxed games (the old cardboards ones are somewhat extinct unless bought on the internet).
Sim City 3000 (strangely the DVD case was of the normal version, but the disk inside was some OEM version? Odd)

Not much, but I finally have all the Unreal Tournaments except for the very first one

Got a copy of Privateer 2 and Splinter Cell.

PowerVR version of Tomb Raider.
