I figure I may as well post some pictures here. First a link to the full gallery:
https://photos.google.com/u/0/album/AF1QipOmC … 0zmev-c__dEySC8

Now for some individual pictures. First, the main desk area. Main PC is under the desk to the right, retro PC is under to the left. Retro PC is hooked up to the VGA input on the 4:3 monitor, main PC is hooked up to DVI on both. Unfortunately both PCs are in shadow in this pic, but you can see alternate pics with flash on the gallery for the machines themselves. Secondary trackball and keyboard pushed up against the second monitor are obviously for the Retro PC. MT32 is hiding under the left-side of the large monitor, but it's really hard to make out in this photo.

Retro console area on the other side of the living room connected to a CRT I found in my Dad's storage. NES, N64, Sega Genesis + Sega CD, and PSOne pictured. SNES would be right in the middle, but it's currently in the lunchroom at work.

Hi!
I am a person who like to have clean area around my self that's why I designed my computer desk to my own needs, I wouldn't like to have a lot of computer cases arround, well, my wife would kill me if I would put another PC tower in my living room, so I decided to build my own "Panteon" which will be more eye-catcher than some old dirty pc case, and it won't scare my wifes friednds.
So this is it:

u5QXmdH.jpg

On the right, my main Core I7 PC, and on the left my main Pentium III PC, I can switch my keyboard between two PC's but my Razor mouse wouldn't work with retro PC so I added another mouse.

KmPKzlB.jpg

This is Abit BX-133-RAID with Sound Blaster Awe 64 Gold, 3Dfx VooDoo 5 5500, Geforce FX 5950 Ultra with Arctic Cooling, 512MB Micron RAM and 1.4GHz Pentium III-S Tualatin CPU.
My Dell Monitor is connected to GeForce by DVI cable and my Voodoo5 is connected to the same monitor by VGA cable.
Underneath the motherboard is HDD, CD-Rom, FDD and two USB ports which are connected to splitter, so I have 5 USB ports all together, everything is covered with my own design steel sheet, wchich is wrapped with brushed steel wrap.

That 1.4ghz rig is pretty nifty. Another shot or two how it 'goes together and "sits" open air like that would be nice.. PCI V5 + 5950 - no fooling around...

Thank You.
The base under motherboard is cut out from some Dell ATX tower and placed with the spacers on wrapped steel sheet.

I had to install some fan on the back, becouse when the drawer is in place, all heat was staying inside, now is ok and I can controll the speed of this fan manualy, so there's no unnecessary noise.

A few weeks ago I made myself a new, improved computer corner!

The table consists of a massive 40mm thick kitchen tableboard from IKEA (marked down due to product phase out) and 4 steel legs. Turned out very sturdy and solid. Unlike the usual computer tables, this one is a pleasure to work under 😀 The only downside is its width, that's the reason the monitor is wall-mounted.

Below the table you can see my main Socket 775 PC, a 486 and an AthlonXP. The bedside table to the right houses PC-300PL, now a little forgotten, and small instruments for a quick fix. Over the table, near a wireless printer and a scanner rest Libretto 50CT and hp200LX. The Omniview Pro KVM next to them is probably broken, even though bought as NOS, sealed and everything, I can't make it work as it should. I have to open it up and see, perhaps the capacitors are all bulged and leaked...

Btw, the clock on the last picture is АЧС-1, a real military chronometer installed on Russian fighters such as SU and MIG. 😀

Looks like a nice setup, but for some strange reason I like the time piece better. Do Russian fighter pilots have a standard wrist chrono?

I don't think so. However, there's a tradition of awarding watches like these to lesser officers all over military forces:

I'm sure you can find them on the internet, but I don't think you can legally export them. And it's not a chrono/light combo, the chrono is only the cylindrical part, the acrylic case is just something to make it stand on a flat surface and the light stands behind it 🤣

Maybe they can be found in some of the former Eastern Bloc countries. Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, etc.

I like the lamp part too. I assume the clocks are re-purposed army surplus and someone figured how to marry the two. Pretty cool.

Just moved house last week. Previously my 'computing area' looked like this:

The attachment 20150902_222737-1200x2133.jpg is no longer available

I have just received an upgrade. Which is good. Because that photo was taken in August last year and the number of computers I now own has pretty much doubled:

Hopefully I will be posting more once it's organised and functional!

Not pictured: my furious wife.

Here is a shot of my workbench at the office. I've built many computers at this old crappy table. The wall of dead motherboards has been a popular attraction for people who visit.
