I've put together a PC for DOS games - probably not ideal but some if it was already in the case from a previous project and I mainly just set up disks and cards:
Soyo SY 5EMA+ mobo
K6/2+ 550
256MB RAM
6GB Quantum Bigfoot
Matshita CD running off sound card
SB Pro2
GUS ACE
Matrox G200 8mb AGP
Voodoo 1
[don't think there is a NIC but if there is it's a 3C905]
Monitor is an old Sony Trinitron [Dell badged] 21".
I am running IBM DOS 5.0.
Comments on the system spec are welcome, but the problem I have is with Lemmings 2, where there is a nasty screen flicker every few seconds. It's like the refresh rate is up the creek - any ideas? The monitor is absolutely fine in Windows 98, 2000 and Debian, so all I can think is that DOS games refresh at a rate that the monitor doesn't like. Any ideas for a fix [apart from use another monitor!].
Many thanks.
