If you want more speed, I guess you could try DOSEmu, although I'm not sure how much it would help.

I've already tried DOSemu, but it was even worse. From unknown reason, the OBOLUS program didn't load at all. It couldn't load the config ini file. But I had all privileges in the folder. I had no idea, where was the problem. DOSBOX at least works. A while ago I set 'cycles' to experimantal value 'auto' and it's much faster. Maybe it will be ok. But the problem with charset stays..

try playing with the keyboardlayout option.
and or keyb.com (of z:\ ) that one will change the charset as well on certain langauges

...and be sure to try/use the 0.70 release of dosbox

Thanks a lot! I'll try it. But I may not use 0.70, because it was not released for (k)ubuntu yet. Versions here are not in *.deb and I can't compile it from sources. So I downloaded it using software sources. I'll update it just when it's released. Or can anyone participate with directions to compile?

If not type "keyb CZ243" at the dosbox prompt and see if it works.

Now, if you have one more minute.. I've compiled it and it's working. But it's not installed as a package like the previous version and I don't know where is the configuration file now. I need it to make it faster again..
