The trip was around 300 kilometers each way, so we had lunch in Germany. We left at 8am, came home at 11pm.
There I found these two items. 100 CD-R in a spindle (15 US Dollars) and one litre of beer. The kind of beer my father used to buy.
The beer is not exactly computerstuff, though it has some cool viking artwork. Thor and Odin. (The usual suspect's)
It's kind of cool that I can still find cd's in a food-store. I really thought that this is a special item these day's.

Can I just point out for the audience that you drove 600km from Denmark to Germany & back to buy Danish beer? 😜

A couple weeks ago, bought a SB16 CT2230 after much research, and then an Asus P3B-F 440BX Slot 1 mobo. It was to include 128 MB PC100 RAM, a PII-266 CPU, a Trident AGP card, and the IO plate. I was pleasantly surprised to find a PII-400 instead. I thought when I booted it up it was OC'd.

A PII-266 is actually 4x66Mhz (multiplier locked to 4). So I thought the seller just pushed the FSB to 100 (4x100 = 400 MHz). To my surprised, the CPU actually says 400 on the plastic shroud (and to top it off, it has the stock Intel HSF, not an aftermarket one). It looks legit. 😀

Hehe.... It shure looks like that. No. The trip was to visit Flensburg, and have a good time. I bought the stuff, because they were there anyway.

I did found a lot of other stuff as well. Shoes at 1/3 of the price, candy at 1/4 of the price, bacon at 1/10 of the price (had a cooling-box with ice-bricks) and a lot of other stuff at a low price. All prices compared to Danish prices. I just did not mention it, because it is not computer related. Only the beer, because it look's so freaking awesome. 😉

I can model pretty much anything in 3D now days, I just don't know how to do things like the LED readout and other electrical stuff I read about on these forums.

A thought I've had, was to use a modern min-tower case( small boxy one ), but to change out its bezel with one I've created. I even have an old AT Gateway mini-tower that I could mod, but it's missing the side panel and needs some work on its frame( it was damaged when I bought it. ).

I can use any Male-to-Female VGA cables, which i can get also on amazon or ebay right? There is no special cable with crossing copper cable inside or something...?

I can confirm. I've been using generic "VGA Extension Cable" coiled up with zip ties between my voodoo2 and video card in my 3dfx computer for a little over a year now. Works fine. Early voodoo's work fine with any vga cable out there.

If someone worked out how to 3D print and make a palmrest with a trackpad, I have a laptop that I'd love to replace the palmrest on. (Particularly small trackpad and I'm not sure it's easily/safely detachable)

After my recent disaster with a purchase off ebay, and getting my money back...thankfully, I found another IBM PS/2 for roughly the same price. It's a model 30 and a bit dirtier (owner was a smoker). Not a big deal. The upside is that this model has ISA slots, which means I can use an assortment of expansion cards I have to "upgrade" the system. The downside is (I believe) this model uses the dreaded Dallas RTC. Not to worry though, I finally broke down and bought a solder vacuum pump, so replacing the chip should be a lot easier.

It appears the RTC may be socketed. From the looks of the second picture, to the right of the CPU.

Anyways, I own all of my software and my PC is decent enough for building 3D content -- it's a 6 core, not the monster another member has here that is packed with titans( I'm jealous to say the least... )

Maybe there's some kind of Kickstarter option? I know they did this for those Commodore case molds. It would be great to be able to buy a retro looking AT case that has the niceties of a modern cases -- like not weighing a ton.

Not sure about starting up a company 🤣 but it's good to crowdsource a workable base design.

I was going to need one myself, but now that the (baby) AT boards are gone before I bought it, the project is pending on my list. I'll have to import to get what I want (intel 430-based ones). Focusing on ATX builds right now...

Not the first one. Notice that it's got a DE-9 on one end!!

Extension cables will work fine. BUT if you don't want a massive loop of VGA cable hanging off the back of your system, look for "VGA port saver". Basically super-short extension cables, measuring about 15-30cm, and available in different quality.

I actually have a 3D scanner (and 3D printer, of course) 😀

...unfortunately it only works with objects up to 5 inches...

Need to find the type of HSF that had a twist spring clip that engages using the offset clips... common some time ago, but haven't seen one in years
