I (almost) hit a jackpot today, I believe it's an 5950 Ultra and it cost me 5€. However, the last mosfet on the right side of the cooler is burned and I need to replace it before I can say if this thing actually works or not. Fingers crossed... 😊

Indeed, the 2nd DX2 in the 3rd row looks rather unusual with its "matrix"-print on it.

There is some glue-residue on the bottom one. And its still soldered on the pcb from which it has been broken out. But CPU is still OK...

Creative Labs' 5950 Ultra looks different, as it relies on nVidia's reference design (it might be a later revision based on MSI's design though):

I bought a brand new old ATX/AT-case complete in box on Marktplaats yesterday for only €13. It arrived today at my home and I'm very happy with it; the build quality is very nice and everything is included; including spare screws. It also came with this Deer Computer Co.Ltd 250W ATX power supply, which is also brand new and has never been used before. I have never heard of this brand though, has any of you guys ever heard of it? The power supply sticker indicates that it was produced in 2001, so I'm assuming the case was also made around that time. The power supply cable still has that very nice new smell though! 😀

Deer was basically the brand of power supply that came with cases back then. While they worked they were also super cheaply made. I would guess it would output about 1/3-1/2 of it's rated power before failing.

I also wouldn't trust the caps to not explode on first power-up as they have been sitting for a really long time.

too bad seller did not keep the box, but well, its a nice card ct1740 with yamaha

Yup, and I meant also the one directly above it. The black text looks "printed-on" and not slightly reflective like that of the others in the photo. After cleaning the top, it might additionally have an unusually polished-looking surface, indicative of the sandpaper (?) that was used to remove the original print.

EDIT: I'll assume Anonymous Coward below is talking about the one with "matrix print".

It's legit. That one is manufactured by IBM, and that's how they all look.

This. I also have one; it is functionally the same but manufactured by IBM under license. When the license expired they started manufacturing Blu Lightning CPUs licensed from Cyrix, functionally equivalent to their DX2s.

The big polygons help to dissipate heat. Otherwise mosfets heatsinks would be needed.

Yes, it's an MSI card with the VIVO chip removed and Creative sticker stuck on the fan. 🤣

Finally got my hands on an affordable Monster 3D 2 with loopback cable and original Need for Speed 2 SE CD, which was bundled with the card! I just can't wait for the real experience. I'll try it this evening.

What's better than a Tseng ET4000AX? An ET6100. And what's better than an ET6100? Two ET6100 boards with some ViVo stuff too:

The ET4000AX is a pretty standard ("Britek") ISA card. The ET6100s are somewhat more special, two Integral Technologies Flashpoint 128 frame grabber/VGA combo cards, with an ET6100 and 4M of MDRAM (4x MD908). Lacking the proprietary video-in cables I can't grab any frames, but the ET6100 works perfectly on both cards. Oh, and the last card was supposed to be a Diamond Stealth III 540, but turned out to be a Speedstar A200 (same Savage4Pro, but only equipped with 8MB of SDRAM.
