I tried several old DOS games with dosbox on WinXP SP2, e.g. "Prince of Persia 2".
For all it is the same: The sound emulation is great, the game is fully playable. 😀
But the full screen resolution is slightly wrong:
Although it should be 640 x 480 (4:3), it appears in a 16:9-close format, so I have black stripes on top and bottom and a picture slightly compressed in height. 😠

I tried to tune this with the option "fullresolution=..." in the dosbox.conf, but it has almost no effect, so "fullresolution=640x480" gives the same result as "fullresolution=600x480" or "fullresolution = original"
Btw: "fullresolution=1024x768" gives a smaller picture, so the option works in principle.

Maybe it's a problem with my TFT-monitor?
It supports the resolutions 800x600 and 1024x768 (both 4:3, so I do not really understand the problem).

Btw, the "Prince of Persia 2" runs also WITHOUT dosbox on WinXP (only the sound does not work then), but then the resolution is correct: I get a real 4:3 full screen view.

Try

fullresolution=1024x768
aspect=true

(or aspect=false 😀 )
